Goal Done and I Won!

Well, it was looking pretty bleak. Even though I had a very small goal for December for Melissa and Shanna's A Lovely Year of Finishes, I was getting nervous that I wouldn't have time to finish replacing the leg casing elastic on a measly four cloth diapers. December has been full of gift buying, gift wrapping, photo book designing, spending time with family and of course, Evelyn rocking. She definitely doesn't take enough naps by herself... but we're working on it!

Through it all, I did finish my goal. These four diapers are back in the rotation! (And all my gifts are boughten and wrapped!)

I was so surprised to receive an email from Carol, saying that I won this lovely charm pack (THANK YOU!). You know how there's some fabric you receive and you kindly set it aside for the right project or at least until you have more time to design the right project... and then there's some fabric that you need to cut into right away?

Well, as you can see by the paper already being torn, this charm pack already has a project planned for it! And if you follow me on instagram, you saw that I've already cut and sewn with it a little bit! (Cold days can get old, but cold days here mean that Dan doesn't have to be outside allll the time and that he can watch Evelyn a bit while I get my sewing fix taken care of!).

Anyways, stay tuned... I think a table runner or two will be my January goal!

December Goal

December will be another busy month, and I just can't seem to get organized with a little one and while living with my in-laws... so, my goal is to simply repair four cloth diapers! I need to take out the side elastic and sew the new elastic in (they're stretched out which leads to leaks since they don't fit as well around Evelyn's legs). We'll see if I get the velcro tabs replaced as well... that would be a bonus!

On top of that I need to send out the Christmas cards (pictures ordered, letter copied, and envelopes addressed... need to sign the letters and put the stamps on) and wrap presents!

I couldn't leave you with such a boring post... so here's a cute picture of Evelyn learning all about Daddy's new tools! He went with his dad on Black Friday to take advantage of some great deals on wrenches and screwdrivers and... gasp... new jeans!
